Meeting of Fate (Rome and Ancient Greece only)

"Indeed. People must do what is necessary to survive."

"I guess nations know that best of all huh?"
He looked away from her, glancing over the scenery, his eyes focusing on a statue. "Who carved that? It's marvelous."

Helena looked over towards the statue that was in the garden.

"That would be a statue of Aphrodite. It was created by Alexandros of Antioch. He did wonderful work."

He walked over to the statue admiring it, "Do you think ... for trade I could get some? I love it!"

"I'll think about it. And I'll have to ask the king, as well. He'll probably say yes."

Helena walks over towards the statue, standing beside Rome.

"It's IS a very nice piece of art. Even I can't make something as fantastic as this."

"Oh? ..I would love to learn." almost timidly he reaches out, wanting to touch. "The idea of making something so beautiful... it seems like lately all I do is destroy things."

Helena was debating on whether or not to teach the Roman how to make art. His country could probably use it, besides for being known for wars and deaths. And he looked like he really wanted to learn.

"Hmm... I GUESS I could teach you how to make some art. However, I'm going to start you off with making pottery before we even go towards creating statues. We clear on that?"

Looking at her like a happy puppy he nodded, "Pottery sounds like lots of fun too!! Then I could make awesome amphora!!"

The look on Rome's face made her chuckle a little. He was like a little kid who wanted to impress his parents by showing new skills he obtained.

"Alright then. Think your general would mind if you were being taught some art lessons tomorrow?"

"Uhmm I dont think so. He might be relieved that we're getting along..." he sighed. "Well.. it's nice to meet someone not trying to kill me ya know?"

Not yet anyway, Helena thought, but brushed it away.

"So, does after breakfast tomorrow sound good?"

"Sounds perfect!" he grinned happily, " I look forward to it~"

"Alright then." Helena smiled a little.

She then looked at the sky and noticed how much the sun had gone down.

"Wow, time sure has flown by. Dinner will probably be ready in a couple of hours."

"Hm?" Following her gaze he felt a sting of disappointment at how fast the time had gone by, "You're right. I suppose we should return to the group so that they won't get the wrong idea about things!"

"Nah, the king will think I've gone off to my bedroom to let off some steam. Your general, on the other hand may think that you've followed me," Helena said with a chuckle.

He grinned, "Well I do have a bit of a reputation with the ladies; and especially with one so fair as you he's probably sitting there worrying quite a bit over whether or not I'm being respectful."

Helena raised an eyebrow at Rome.

"Really? Poor man. He must have to watch over you like a dog all day and all night."

Grinning, he responded, "Oh well. Only on diplomatic missions - I'm too much for him to keep up with.... sometimes I just make up stories to see him turn red."
He winked

Helena gave Rome an amused smile.

"No stories about me, please. I'd rather NOT be part of the rumor circle amongst you and your group of buddies."

"Oh I wouldn't dream of it - I would rather the stories be true," he teased.

Helena rolled her eyes at what Rome said.

"Yeah, well, I'd still rather not be part of the discussion of such things amongst you and your friends."

"Of course."

He wasn't going to bother mentioning that his friends were mainly those of the back stabbing Latin League or his whole twisted father son pederastic relationship with Etrusca.. and that the friends he did bother to make usually ended up dying in their normal human life span.
Or the fact he had killed his brother.
And that in fact even with all of his 'family' - a word he used sparingly- that he was lonely for someone to actually talk to.
Didn't need to mention that at all.

So instead he just smiled, "Would the lady perhaps like to walk me back to where this guest should go?"

"Might as well walk yuo back to your room, since we have nothing to do. Sound good?"

"Sounds wonderful."

Later on it would be strange trying to explain why he loved her so much. Perhaps it was her beauty? But that was only part of it.
He felt relaxed around her, her wit and fire was exactly what he admired in a woman.

The exact opposite to what his society desired in the 'ideal' woman.

"Alright."

Helena walked back into the palace with Rome to his room.

She was enjoying herself around this man a lot. Sure, he was physically attractive, but something about him said that he was FAR smarter than he let on and had a lot of good traits about him that he hid.

She still didn't trust him, but she was glad to interact with someone else for a change.
