Story Time (for anyone who wants to tell myths) Empty Story Time (for anyone who wants to tell myths)

Post by Helena/ Ancient Greece Sat Nov 13, 2010 6:54 am

Helena placed a bowl of pita chips on her table with some veggie dip to go along side it, as well as some actual vegetables on other plates. A few other plates that had cheese, olives, and grapes ggraced the table's surface. Two coolers with ice held drinks. One filled with alcoholic drinks, and the other non-alcohoic. She grinned a little at her small set up. She wasn't sure if someone may get a little hungry, so she got a few snacks out, just in case.

The brown-haired ancient was giddy at that moment. She couldn't wait for some other people to show up so they could tell each other the myths of their countries. She may have been an ancient and knew a lot, but she always found that knowledge could be presented in fun ways. And she was always willing to learn something new from another person. Helena sat down on her couch and continued to wait for her guests to arrive.

This RP thread is for anyone who likes mths and wants to listen/say some here. If you want to, find some myths for the country you represent and tell them or I'll tell one that your character may want to hear from my character. Either way works. Smile Hope you guys will like it!

Nana. He loved her and ever since he grew up, he noticed just how pretty she was. No, no. She was Heracles's mom. She was his Nana. He sighed. He knew she would never see him except as a little nation with bright eyes and a love of kitties.

He gripped the bouquet of flowers, violets and cyclamens. He hoped she would like them. He gulped, tightening the grip on them. He put on his best smile and knocked on the door.

"I hope they like my stories."

Kiku went up to the door with a smile on his face. He had found the few things about Greek myths he had learned from Heracles quite interesting. Now he had the oportunity to learn more, and perhaps from more countries as well. And also possibly tell some of his own.

He noticed Nekolis there as he approached.

    "Oh, hello Nekolis-kun," he greeted.

Helena heard the knock on her door and headed over to the front. When she opened it, she saw both her grandson and Kiku on her porch.

"Neko! Kiku-san! Welcome!" She said with a big smile. She moved out of the way and opened her door wider. "Please come in."

He saw her. He smiled. He waved at Japan. "Hello Mr. Japan." he greeted warmly before turning to his Grandmother. "Th-these are for you. I heard you liked violets and the others are flowers from my house. I mean.....I don't know." he stammered nervous.

Why was he nervous? She loved him and he loved her. They were family. 'Calm yourself.'

"Ah, okay. Thank you Nana. Can I help you with anything?"

Kiku bowed toward the woman who had opened the door. "Hello, and thank you for you invitation, Helena-san."

He stepped into the house at her invitation and looked around a little. "And if there is anything I could help you with as well, please let me know," he offered.

Helena smiled warmly. "Thank you, Neko. I do like the flowers you grow at your house," she said, taking the bouquet from her grandson. She took a whiff of the flora and smiled again. "They smell lovely."

She then turned to Kiku and replied, "You're welcome, Kiku-san. I'm glad you could come. As for the question of help, all I ask is for the two of you to be comfortable and to take a seat in my living room. If either of you are hungry or thirsty, I have refreshments set out. Please follow me. I'll show you to the living room."

Helena closed the door once Neko and Kiku were in then lead them to her living room. It was enormous and had lots of comfy seats spread around, should there be a lot of people coming for the myth telling. The room brought in lots of sunshine, for the room was made to bring in natural light. The snacks, as well as some napkins and plates for the food to be placed on, rested on the table. The coolers with the drinks sat over at on end of the table on the floor and each had a piece of paper stating what kind of drinks were in each cooler.

"Feel free to sit anywhere you want and make yourselves at home," Helena said, smiling once again.

She was a little worried. It had been a very long time since she was so far from her home. She was a bit of a hermit, really. Sighing, she looked down at the wolf who was with her.

"Shall I knock, Silbeo?" Yeosin raised her hand.

While she waited, she shifted the box she was carrying. She hoped Helena would like them. Neatly packed away were eight large Korean pears and rice cakes.

Her face was serious, void of most emotion, but she was secretly bursting with excitement. Myths! She couldn't wait to hear the stories the others had to tell, and she hoped they would like the tale she chose.

Helena heard the door knocked on again as she was placing the bouquet of flowers given to her by Neko into a vase with water. When she finished her small task, she placed the vase onto a small table near a window and said to her guests, "I'll be right back."

Helena hurried to the door and opened it up. She smiled when she saw Yeosin at the door.

"Hello, Yeosin! I'm glad you could come!" she said. She then noticed the Asian ancient carrying a box. "Do you mind what I ask is in the box?"

Yeosin smiled at Helena, handing her the box.

"This is for you. It is a thank you for inviting me to your home today. They are Korean pears and rice cakes. Despite being green and shaped like apples, I assure you, they are pears," Yeosin explained, well aware of the fact that most Western nations thought her pears were apples.

Glancing hesitantly at Silbeo, Yeosin continued.

"I hope you do not mind. I brought Silbeo with me. I am not used to being without him..." she trailed off.

"I'm glad you like them. I was worried you wouldn't."

It was always beautiful here. Nekolis smiled brightly, everything here felt so at ease and effortless. She was amazing. He walked into the room, over to the refreshments. She wanted them to be comfortable, and being here always put him at ease.

He opened a cooler and smiled at Japan. "Mr. Japan, would you like a drink? I think there is juice and mineral water in this one."

"You don't have to worry about me, Nekolis-kun," he told the young nation. "And...etto...you don't have to call me by my nation name...no one else really does." He smiled back at the boy.

Then he looked to the door. Yeosin came in. He hoped they could put aside their differences for the day and enjoy themselves. He decided not to bother her for now.

He looked at the row of drinks. Now...what sounded good?

"Oh, I'm sorry. I am not used to it. Please forgive me Mr.Honda." he said blushing. He was so embarrassed. Not often was he invited to casual gatherings. Even at official ones he was under the watchful eye of Greece, keeping Turkey at bay.

He took a water and drank it down quickly. He sat on a nearby couch and fidgeted.

"Thank you very much, Yeosin," Helena replied with a smile when she took the box. "I'll place a few out as snacks in a moment."

Helena looked down at Silbeo and smiled. She then looked back up at Yeosin and said, "That's quite fine with me. I'm actually taking care of a injured wolf I found during some travels I did recently. She's quite sweet and could keep your friend company." Helena stepped aisde while opening the door durther, so Yeosin could come into her home. Then she remembered something.

"Oh, curious, is Silbeo ok with cats? I have a male cat and a female cat and the female is expecting kittens," The ancient Greek lady stated.

Yeosin smiled softly and rested her hand on Silbeo's head.

"I am sure Silbeo would love to meet this injured wolf. Silbeo may be a hunter by nature, but he is very kind. I am sure he will be okay with the cats."

Silbeo bowed his head, as if in agreement.

Stepping inside, Yeosin noticed that Kiku Honda and Nekolis Cypriot were already seated. She paused momentarily before bowing in greeting. She respected Helena too much to cause trouble in her home. Besides, she was secretly looking forward to Kiku's story.

Adam knocked on the door, eager to tell stories of the DreamTime. Very few non-aboriginals or australians had even heard of the DreamTime, so Adam was very excited. He had decided to dress in traditional gear as well. He wore no shirt and his face and torso were dotted and striped in traditional fashion. He wore a wooden beaded necklace with croc teeth. He brought with him his animals and a few traditonal aboriginal things. The Dreamtime was part of a 60,000 culture and Adam couldn't wait to share it

"It's no trouble at all. Nothing to apologize for," Kiku told the teenager. He noticed Nekolis was still addressing him politely, using his last name. Which, considering the age of the young nation, was only proper...not that many other nations he had met were naturals at what was proper.

He was glad to see that when Yeosin entered she bowed after just a moment's pause. He bowed back respectfully. He would be interested to hear what story she might tell.

Helena smiled at Yeosin. "Good," she said. She closed her door once more, observed the interaction between Kiku and Yeosin, and headed to the kitchen to get some of the snacks Yeosin gave her into the living room. She placed about five or six pears in a bowl after she washed and dried them and some of the rice cakes on a plate. She then grabbed the dishware with food, took it to the living room, and placed them on the table.

Helena then heard the door knock again and went over to it. She opened it and saw Adam in his outfit. She scanned it and then grinned.

"Nice outfit, Adam. Wearing it to bring out more of the culture for what you're going to tell our little group?" she asked.

He glanced at the others. It was quite a mixed group, so this was sure to be an interesting myth and stories night.

For a moment, she was unsure of where to sit. Silbeo, however, took care of the decision by nudging her towards Kiku. Hesitantly, Yeosin sat down next to Kiku. Well, she was a good two feet away from him, but it was a start. She was thankful when Silbeo sat between them. Adjusting her robes, she settled in while Helena brought out the Korean pears and rice cakes. Taking one, she pulled out a hidden knife and began to slice the pear but looked up when Adam entered the room. She paused, eyes scanning his curious attire.

"Adam-nim, if you will pardon my rudeness, but what are you wearing?"

Nekolis didn't know want to say when Adam came in the room. He looked like a tribal warrior in the books he had read. He looked at his plain attire and sighed. Nothing special. He took a sip of his water, glancing about the room. He noticed the tension between the Asian nations and tensed up a bit.

Kiku noticed Yeosin had chosen to sit next to him. Or, had her wolf chosen for her? It had seemed like that was the case. At any rate, the wolf now sat between them. He wondered if he should say something to her...

Then his nervousness was broken by Adam walking in wearing a very interesting outfit. He heard Yeosin ask him what it was, and Nekolis comment as well. So he stayed silent and waited for the Australian's answer.
