"Why thank you, Carlos. Same to you."
She grinned at his last statement.
"I'm sure we will. See you in one hour, Carlos." She gave him a wave before walking off to her car to head home, shower, change, and come back to meet up with her new friend for a night to drink.
He hurried home, showered and changed his clothes. Nothing fancy, just a simple casual button down shirt and jeans replacing his jacket and slacks. He smoothed his hair, trying to smooth down the stray hairs in his plaited hair.
When he saw her waiting for him he grinned brightly. "Ready? Its just a short walk from here. Less than two blocks"

When she arrived home, Helena showered, changed into a black sleeves shirt, black jeans, black dress sandals, and three silver bracelets on each wrist. She put her hair up in a bun, looked in the mirror, then headed back into her car back to the school. When she got out, she waited for Carlos to arrive and grinend when he did.
She looked lovely. Of course she did, she was a classy and elegant woman. "Thank you for being so accommodating. By the way you look very nice. Very chic." he commented as they began to walk.
The school looked very different at night. It had a certain stillness and calm that only this time of day had. Something that inspired moments like these. These warm, friendly moments that were the ones people talked about years later.
Carlos was true to his word. It was a short walk from the school. The bar called 'Comfort'. The cozy brick building was simply decorated and looked inviting. Inside, they could see people already enjoying the atmosphere. He grinned brightly and opened the door for her. "Allow me Ms. Helena."

Helena smiled at Carlos' compliment.
"Thank you, Carlos. You look nice, as well."
She followed beside him as they headed to the bar. When they arrivedm she grinned at the place. It's looks like such a charming little building, she thought.
She smiled again as the Cuban man opened the door for her.
"Thank you, Carlos." She stepped inside the happy atmosphere that the bar produce from its employees and occupants at the bar itself. This should be a fun night, she thought, still smiling.
He blushed. "You are too kind Ms. Helena." She was embarrassing him. No, she was being herself, a kind, elegant woman. She would be a great friend to him. Already he knew this night was going to go well.
He followed her into the quaint establishment. He quietly led her to a table in the center of the place. Here they could see the whole bar, from the family pictures hung on the wall, string lights lit the back of the bar, the richly upholstered booths filled with laughing patrons. Everything here screamed ease and warmth. A server came to great them with menus and glasses of water. "First round is on me Ms. Helena. Please order whatever you'd like. I'll have a draft and an order of the house chips, extra dipping sauce."
The server turned to her, poised to take her order.

She followed Carlos as she was led to the booth and looked around the establishment. The sihgt of the people inside having a good time made her smile.
When the server came up to take their drink orders, she looked at the menu before looking back at the server and replying, "I'll have a glass of your Arbor Mist Exotic Fruits wine, please."
Wine. Interesting. The server nodded and went to put their orders in. "I do enjoy this place after a hard day. Their selection is top notch and its not too far from my place. I apologize for making you wait earlier, it was rude of me." Carlos explained. As the calming mood jazz folk music wafted through the air his tension relaxed. Now was not the time for stiff apologies and stark answers, it was a time for new friends to simply enjoy each others company.
"Thank you again for accepting my invitation."
Inside, he cringed. 'Loosen up! She's your friend, stop worrying.'

Helena merely smiled at his apology and at what else he said.
"Don't worry about it. I didn't wait that long. Besides, as the saying goes, patience is a virtue. And thank you for inviting me. I don't go out much anymore due to not only being a counselor, but a mom, so I don't have much fun time with friends."
He nodded in reply, more tension releasing from his form. Upon her explanation he quickly thought. "I see your point, you wear many hats, but you wear them so well." he smirked. "Oh, Heracles is your boy. Fine young man, a bit narcoleptic though." he chuckled.
The waitress came back with their drinks and food. "They make these chips to order and their dipping sauce is simply robust and flavorful." he commented taking a chip, then dunking it into the sauce before eating it. He then took a sip of his beer. "Perhaps we can do this more often."
After a long day, which involved making sure what his kids were doing after school, Rome decided to loosen up. Why not go for a drink? Loosening his tie, he made his way over to the pub, entering and revelling in the atmosphere. He hardly glanced around, as he headed towards his favourite seat at the bar.
Fortunately it wasn't taken, and sitting down, the bartender knew immediately what he wanted.

Helena chuckled at Carlos' comment about her son.
"Mmm, yes. I swear, my son was a cat in a previous lifetime. It's hard soemtimes to have him do his chores because of his sleepiness, but he usually does them when he wakes up."
When the drinks and food came, the brown-haired woman also sampled the chips and salsa after Carlos did. When she tasted it, she grinned.
"This really is good. I can see why you enjoy them."
She took a sip of her wine when she noticed whho walked into the bar. She chuckled once again before saying to Carlos, "It seems our boss is a regular here, Carlos. Look over around the other boothes and you'll find him."
Carlos smiled at her reply. She was very witty and charismatic, he was greatly enjoying her company. Hopefully, so was she.
"Si, es perfecto." he replied and ate another chip. Simply wonderful, the saltiness blending perfectly with the tang of the salsa. Complimented with the maltiness of the beer created a wonderful culinary experience. It brought him comfort. This place was aptly named.
At her comment, he looked up. Indeed it was the principal. He had taken him up.....or was this coincidence? He figured it was the latter.
He noticed and acknowledged her. Perhaps he would join them. The burly man hoped so. He so desired a chance to converse with the principal at length in an informal setting.
He took another sip from his beer and hoped for the best.

Helena merely chuckled at his question.
"Nah, I'm out to enjoy myself with one of our co-workers. To be more specific, the Glee club sponsor, Carlos. We were wondering if you wanted to join us at the table we're sitting at."
"Ah Carlos is here?" Rome looked over and noticed him, before making a face, "Ve you're not going to just talk about Glee club are you? I've had too much thought about that club... making sure it got funding."
He sighed. He came here to get away from the school, he was tempted to socialize with his employees, but he also was afraid they might inundate him with conversation he wanted to escape for a while. School at work, school at home.
Except.. Helena did have that sparkle about her, a something he wanted to get to know better.

Come join us, Aldrick~! It's more fun with more people. ^w^
And let's pull a prank on Rome together in Gakuen~! XD
Helena rolled her eyes with a smile.
"I'll change the subject if the Glee club should pop up, even though I do want to know more about it. I can always ask him later. Besides, it'll be fun. You never know what you'll learn about a perosn tonight. So please come join us at our table~?"
"Well if you put it like that, how can I resist?" Rome smiled, and picked up his glass, "Lead the way fair lady. I'll do my best not to get too drunk, or obnoxiously sing karaoke!"

Helena chuckled at his last comment and gestured with a hand for her boss to follow her to the table her and Carlos sat at. She sat down in front of her glass of wine and said to the Cuban man, "Look who came to join us, Carlos."
He was only casually going to knock back mugs of beer at a bar. Casually. It was the only bar he knew where they served ale from his homeland that actually tasted good. He was tired of drinking the same old watered down piss that they called "beer" here in America. It made him feel ill that the good name of bier was being horribly represented like that here. At least this bar was untouched. He sat comfortably at the bar, ordering his daily swill.
