    Floating Away Empty Floating Away

Post by Raivis Galante/Latvia Wed Apr 20, 2011 9:49 pm

It was quite a strange feeling, floating away from the world. Everything was just so light and fluffy, almost as if he had been filled with helium. He couldn’t say that it was exactly a pleasant feeling, but it wasn’t painful either. It was a sensation that was impossible to describe; one would have to experience it personally in order to truly understand it.

Soon enough, Raivis realized something was wrong. Looking down, he realized that he was the only one floating. His friends, brothers, even Ivan, were just standing on the ground, looking up at him. They looked happy, oddly enough. Relieved. The little awkward one was finally leaving, getting out of their way after all these years.

    He woke up crying.

    And coughing.

And falling out of his bed in a mad dash towards the bathroom so he could be violently sick without making a mess everywhere.

Once that horrid adventure was done, Raivis rinsed his mouth in the sink and stumbled his way to the hall closet to retrieve the thermometer. With the high-pitched beeping, the boy was not surprised to find that he had a fever as well. He would have to call in sick and have a rest day, to be sure.

Yes, he was a country. But he was a country with a weaker body, which meant he really did get sick often.

Along with the fever came a sense of light-headedness. It seemed almost familiar, like something from a dream that he couldn’t remember. Oh well, he didn’t have the mental capacity at the moment to really ponder it.

    “H-Hello, Boss? Yeah, I’m s-s-sick a-again. I’ll m-make it up w-when I’m b-better. Thank y-you, I’ll b-be f-fine. Mrs. P-Paleja gave me s-some f-food last n-night. A-Alright. G-Goodbye.” He set the phone down. Good, that was done. He could rest now.

…Or not, he needed to empty his stomach again.

    Derp.

This has been in my mind for a good month or two. Why it took me so long to write down?

That would be because I'm a derp.
