History:
Despite his care free and relaxed demeanour. Adam hides a dark past. Orphaned at the tender age of four, Adam was sent to a small orphanage in the outback. When he turned five, a rich british man offered to adopt him. Happy and excited to have found the little boy a family, the Orphanage obliged and Adam was adopted. For several months things seemed normal until his "father " proceeded to get drunk and beat him every night. Things only got worse as he got older. The beatings turned to floggings and other forms of torture. As a pre-teen he was often chained in the basement and flogged until his body was raw and blood pooled at his feet then made to grind pepper until his wounds felt as if they were on fire.
There was no real reason for why his "father" would do this. Sometimes his excuse was his temper, or drunkenness or that this would make Adam more of a man. Usually it happened after he did something wrong. At 16 he finally had the courage to run away. He lived on the street for a year until a local charity caught his case in the media. His so called father had adopted another boy and started to give him the same treatment. The police realised that this man had adopted a previous child and searched for Adam for a year, afraid he'd been killed. Adam resolved to not let his past destroy him, Adam decided to fight back. He went to many martial arts dojos, and boxing rings etc. He aimed to learn as many fighting styles and weapons as possible. And he did just that.
At 23 he is a black belt in numerous martial arts and fighting styles and is more the capable of defending himself. The same charity that rescued him convinced him to take a job at the local asylum as they were in desperate need of a strong security guard. Their ulterior motive was that they hoped he would open up to someone there.
It was quite common for aussie convicts to be flogged 300 times and then sent to grind pepper. =\ As well as other forms of torture, i.e rape, beatings etc. Australia the country as a very dark past, its said that during those times the worst human rights violations in the world were committed there. D: but we dont like to think about it too much .
