Name: Mei Lin Wang
Age: 20
Job/Occupation: Nurse
Degree: Nursing, training in Psychiatrics
History:
How Mei became a nurse in the psychiatric department is still somewhat of a mystery to her. She was the only daughter and the youngest of three children, much to the disgust of her abusive mother and opium-addicted father. Viewed as useless and a mistake, she endured being beaten and hated by both parents with the help of her two brothers, Yao and Li. They are still to this day, the only two people she trusts and feels completely comfortable around. Their mother seemed to never be in a good mood, always blaming them for their father’s uncontrollable drug misuse, punishing them by beating them with pots and pans, neglecting them, even abusing them verbally. In order to avoid her parents, Mei spent most of her time studying, much like her two brothers. She never made any other friends, and became used to being isolated from the outside world. But because of this, the three of them were much smarter than average, and thus able to get through school quicker.
Then one year, their mother committed suicide and their father eventually overdosed, and neither event surprised nor saddened her. She shed no tears, she showed no interest. Mei's memories of her parents began to fade shortly after this, until remembering life when they were alive became troublesome. Though, this seems to affect her for the better, and according to her, she never had parents. Upon receiving scholarships for various universities, Mei ultimately decided to study abroad in Japan, but she promised herself she would return as fast as she could. She studied hard in psychiatrics, hoping that someday she could deter others from becoming the kind of people her parents had been.
Upon receiving her degree and leaving Japan, Mei was pleasantly surprised to find a request for her to come and practice at an asylum. She started as soon as she could, and was also happy to later find out Li had accepted a training job as well at the same asylum. Though she smiles most of the time, there's usually some sort of sadness in her eyes, permanently there because of her hazy past. However, despite being withdrawn towards most people, Mei does her work obediently and carefully, constantly hoping for the best, though while secretly expecting the worst.
