The grounds had a small exit toward the beach and its rough but quiet, salty waves. In the sand were some boxes, labeled “fireworks” and sealed tightly, a large “x” over a red illustration of flames. Some chairs sat folded next to that, but the sand was nice and soft and comfy-looking. The sky was clear and darkening, pinks and oranges streaking it at the present.
